Over the past 15 years, UL and Disney reached more than one billion families through the Safety Smart program, providing families and teachers with the resources they need to develop interactive and memorable safety curriculum for children worldwide. In honor of this milestone, Disney brought more than 60 Osceola County Public School students to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park for an interactive day of learning.

The students at Disney’s Animal Kingdom went through the Safety Smart – Goes Green! program. The students and their teachers learned about behaviors and decision-making that keep the land, air, and water around them clean and safe.

“There’s something special about bringing students out of the classroom for an educational experience,” said Dr. Debra Pace, superintendent of the Osceola School District. “And when that place is Disney, their excitement and eagerness to learn is amplified tenfold.”

The core of this program aims to empower children and youth to make safety smart decisions. A day-long celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with students was the ideal way to mark the 15th anniversary of this award-winning partnership between UL and Disney.

Select Wild About Safety resources, including the Safety Smart – Goes Green! programming is recognized by the Teacher’s Choice and Parent’s Choice Awards.
