The Challenge

It’s no secret that severe weather patterns have been seriously impacting our communities—from category 5 hurricanes to year-long droughts. We’re living in a moment where these massive environmental challenges can sometimes feel unbeatable. Students are taking the helm in a big way: from staging global protests, to starting neighborhood organizations, or simply creating connections within their own communities. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) recognize the power of individual students to imagine change and create solutions and we wanted to give them a chance to share their experiences. We launched Imagine If  to share the stories of students and their communities.

We’re always looking for inspiring students to feature on our show, so please reach out to us via email.

The Approach

Imagine If is a podcast about climate resiliency, where high school students who are experiencing the real-life impacts of climate change and trying to find solutions in their communities can share their stories. Students in these impacted communities also have the opportunity to take the mic and ask experts like conservation leaders, government officials, even environmental justice organizers about how to tackle these global challenges!

With support from The National Geographic Society, the NAAEE, and UL, we give “voice” to students across the United States in hopes that all listeners will be inspired to imagine a world they can create for the future. We hope the stories and conversations inspire you to Imagine If.
